English Cotton bobbin lace has an open design often made of silk and cotton thread.
Most modern day bobbin lace is 97-100% cotton with some having an addition of a tiny amount of viscose or art. silk. Our antique or vintage trims are mainly 100% cotton.
Bobbin laces are still made today on old lacemaking machines and designs have changed very little since the mid-18th century. Our selection of laces are all are suitable for heirloom sewing, doll and bear costumes, authentic antique costuming and 1:12th scale doll's house projects.
